June 17th was a big day for Karissa and Mike. Their Woodloch wedding day had finally arrived! I arrived to find Karissa getting ready with all her favorite ladies. She had a smile on her face the entire morning. I didn’t get any vibes of major nerves from her, only excitement. The morning moved along and we moved over to the ceremony site. I was checking the weather app and there was a big storm rolling in. It seemed we may have been just on the edge of this big and nasty storm. I said a prayer and hoped for the best. The sprinkles started to fall and again I checked my app (oh I love of technology when it works). Again, I was seeing this might be the worst we will get. The ceremony proceeded and the sprinkles kissed us and that was the worst it was. It was perfect! The guests smiled through the ceremony and I don’t think anyone really noticed or cared about the rain all that much. Their attention was right where it should be, on Mike & Karissa.
After all the portraits were done, Mike & Karissa joined their guests for their reception. They danced beautifully for their first dance and then with their parents. Karissa and her dad livened up the party with energy during their fun and sweet dance. The toasts were funny and touching. The party got started and I have a feeling it went on late into the night at their after party. It was such a pleasure working with these beautiful people who have such big hearts. I can’t wait to see where their adventure takes them.
