I first spoke with Stephanie in December of last year about her wedding photography needs. They live out of state so I couldn’t meet with her in person. But we had plenty to talk about over the phone. She and her fiance, Johnny, were planning to get married in Montrose, PA with their wedding reception at POSH at The Scranton Club. She called to confirm that they had chosen me to be their photographer on my birthday! haha
So, we got to meet during their holiday visit to the area. I felt bad because I was so sick still. Last fall was a terrible time for my family, we were all so sick. My nose was running, my voice sounded strange and I had a terrible cough. I couldn’t hug them and I’m a total hugger! But they got to meet the real me a few weeks later at Penn State University where we had their engagement session. Yes it was a random 60 degree beautiful day in January! I had so much fun with them and got to know them a bit more. It made me that much more excited for their wedding day.
I arrived at the house across from the church the day of their wedding. Stephanie was surrounded by her family and bridesmaids. She was cool as a cucumber but so very excited. It wasn’t until right before the first look that the nerves swept over her. I set up Johnny and he also was chill but very excited to see his bride……..
I set them up to hold hands before allowing them to see each other. They both followed the rules and didn’t try to sneak a peek. These two must be very good around Christmas time. 🙂 I always peeked, hehe.
Then they got to see each other and have their moment….
Off we went to do some photos prior to the ceremony. All nerves were gone and there was just pure love and excitement. They had each other and were ready to take on their day together.
The food at POSH was absolutely amazing! I’m not surprised, it’s one of my favorite things about POSH. I wish I had photographed the dinner plates for you too, but not sure guests would’ve been happy about that, lol. Yummy!
It was such a pleasure to capture Johnny & Stephanie’s journey these past months. Getting to know them has been a gift to me and I will never forget them. I wish them all the best that life and marriage has to offer. I know that when the hard stuff comes up, they will get through it. They are just meant for each other. They know why I know this. 🙂 Much Love! xoxo
