Photography, for me, started as a way to document our lives. We are busy and it seems as we age, time just moves even faster. I don’t want to lose these days. I follow other photographers and they have started sharing “A day in their life” type posts on their blogs (IE Courtney Keim & Parikha Meta). I have truly enjoyed seeing them. They have inspired me to photograph my every day more.
Some may say their business page is not a place for their personal lives. I don’t agree in photography. My business is photography, my photography is personal. I think it’s the perfect place to share and I hope those photographers continue to do so. I hope you don’t mind my sharing because it’s something I will continue to do. I have very low pressure on myself and am setting a goal of 1 day a month. I have tried 365 projects and even 52 week (like 365 but 1 photo per week) projects. I have failed at them. :/ I had so much fun doing this yesterday, I think I will stick to it. 😉
Our days are rather uneventful. I must warn you that when I do these, I will not do any special cleaning to make my world appear prettier than it is. We live a simple life, family of 5 cramped into a tiny house in the middle of nowhere. lol So, you will see it like it is. But that’s the point, isn’t it?
I started my day as I start EVERY day! With a cup of coffee, facebook and email. I don’t work out every morning, but try to at least 3 times a week or more. I check my horoscope app every day and rather surprised by it’s accuracy.
The kids watched some Harry Potter while I got ready and then I had to get them up and moving because we were going to visit Grandma and Pop Pop.
*All photos above were taken while parked! lol
Then we arrived at my mom’s. We don’t have dogs so my kids love visiting animals. Although, Layla always needs a little warm up time. The dogs do make her nervous. She took some time just observing and then hopped right in for some petting. 🙂
I had to share this. My mom made my 17 year old brother a quilt out of all his concert t-shirts. I thought that was pretty cool.
It was a hot day so we had some water play and then off for some ice cream.
Evan always wants what others have, haha. He kept begging Grandma for hers.
The girls stayed at Grandma’s for a sleepover. Evan and I headed home and it was a rainy night so I had to reschedule my session. Evan got some play time in with daddy, I did a little work and that was our day.
I hope you enjoyed a little glimpse into my world. 🙂
This is cool, thanks for sharing. For me as a photographer, sometimes I get too wrapped up in the extraordinary but lose sight of how precious the ordinary is. I'm going to make a better effort of documenting my wife in her pregnancy, I don't want to forget all the thousands or ordinary moments that make up the nine extraordinary months.
